How to Lose those EXTRA Pounds after the Holidays

Holidays are cruel, especially for those who have an issue with losing weight and keeping them off. During the holidays, we have to visit family and friends. During the holidays, we have to have at least one grand feast. During the holidays, people get drunk for no reason (the reason cited as holiday but still). So, this has been going on for decades and will be no different this decade and many more to come. So, how do you ensure that you lose those extra pounds after you have sinfully piled up during the holidays?

Well, to begin with, you can start feeling guilty, which I suppose you have already.

Next, you can start with your exercise plan, if you have one already. If not, you need to urgently get started on one NOW! I'd say, start with taking brisk walks in the mornings and evenings for at least 20 minutes. Once you have your muscles moving for a day or two, start with stretching exercises. Yoga is good but you will need to devote more time to it to take effect and you need to be consistent in your approach as well. You can search this site for various tips on how to lose weight with Yoga.

While you are it, you need to start to cut down on your calorie intake or just think of this as having to start eating in moderation. You need not go on any strict diet as you will pile up again after your diet period is over. Diet does not work for me and I have seen lots of people with the same. Therefore, have anything you want to have but have them in moderation. You live only once.

You need to drink plenty of water while you are losing weight. This helps to flush out toxins in your body and keep your digestion healthy as well.

In summary, there is no easy way to get rid of those extra pounds you have piled on. Slowly and steadily, you can eliminate them. Your attitude towards your weight loss will determine how much you lose and how soon. So, All the Best and Happy Weight Loss :D

Anti Gravity Yoga a.k.a Aerial Yoga - Have you tried it?

Have you heard about the Anti Gravity Yoga or Aerial Yoga that is making the news since 2009? Well, if you haven't, you need to check it out. Anti gravity or Aerial Yoga is basically doing yoga without touching the floor. Basically, for traditional yoga classes, you need to at least get ready your yoga mat to do your yoga postures. However, for anti gravity or aerial yoga, you replace the yoga mat with a Yoga Hammock.

I was amazed when I read about this in Yahoo News and therefore, I decided to find out more about it. This led me to antigravityyoga.com. This site basically has all the info you need to know about anti gravity or aerial yoga.

According to me, the concept seems quite scary to me as I am slightly afraid of heights and also, I am not very comfortsble letting the hammock hold my weight (which I am trying very hard to lose) without any form of "other" support. What happens if that hammock snaps! Okay, maybe I am being a little too skeptic but you really need to let yourself go if you want to reap any form of benefit from joining a anti gravity or aerial yoga classes.

Benefits? What are the benefits of doing anti gravity or aerial yoga instead of traditional yoga?

Well, the main benefit I can see is that it allows a person having difficulty doing head stands a lot of ease with which they could do that pose. It is easier to flip yourself upside down than walk up that wall (I tried that a lot of times but never worked). Headstand is very beneficial as it helps the blood flow to your brain and supplies it with an extra dose of oxygen which otherwise does not travel that far up your body. Your thoughts will clear up and you will also start feeling more active as your brain is more active when it receives a lot of oxygen.

The other benefits of doing aerial yoga or anti gravity yoga are as follows:
- less strenuous as your body is not pressing against the floor (it may be hard till you start feeling comfortable with the hammock)
- you will feel more free (I feel very relaxed and free after swinging in the park. I guess this will give that kind of benefit if not more)
- Your fear of heights will disapper (that is, if you manage to stay in class despite your fear)

If you have tried anti gravit yoga or arial yoga, please drop your comments. I would love to hear from someone who has tried this before. Thanks.

"People have a misconception that I choose the participants and they are afraid they may be asked to go on stage or do something they don't want to do," he says. "I want everyone to know that my shows are 100 per cent audience participation. My biggest challenge is helping people overcome misconceptions such as this.

"I don't choose the people, the audience volunteers. I don't grab people from the audience and pull them up on stage and make them do stupid things. It's not that way at all.

Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin

Paul McKenna is a renowned name in the Self Improvement industry. He has made changes and helped millions of people with his revolutionary approach to various "diseases" that haunt many. He has a series of books and NLP CD's to his credit and he has appeared on many shows. The best thing is that his methods have been proven to be working live on TV!

Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin is a simple solution to weight loss as is claimed by himself as well as those who has benefited from using his approach. The no-diet weight loss program devised by Paul McKenna is all about simplicity.

1) Eat ALL you WANT
2) Eat WHEN you WANT (when you are hungry that is)
3) STOP when you are SATISFIED
4) Do NOT STUFF yourself
5) LOVE your FOOD (enjoy while you are eating) but HATE the QUANTITY (don't eat it because it's on your plate)

Sounds simple and very easy to follow but isn't eating all you want when you want making the people fat instead of the other way around?

I hear, that's a resounding YES. However, you miss the point if you are rolling your eyes after reading points 1 and 2. Move on to 3, 4 and 5 to see how this works! You need to stop eating when you are satisfied.

First things first. When do you feel hungry? Do you know what hunger feels like? You are hungry when you hear your tummy groan and make those funny noises. That's when you know you are hungry not when you have cravings. When do you know you are satisfied? When your tummy does not make those funny noises anymore, you know you are satisfied.

Just because the food is on your plate, you are under no obligation to finish it. For a start, do not take more than a handful or spoonful on your plate. Only fill your plate as long as you are not satisfied. Once you are satisfied, do not serve anymore.

Enjoying your food is a very good way of losing weight. Many nutritionists and weight loss experts claim this to be true. When you take your time to chew and enjoy your food, tasting every bite of it, you tend to eat less because your belly gets full fast. When you gorge, you do not give your belly enough time to process your food and tell you to stop as it is satisfied. Therefore, enjoy your food while you are at it and see your weight drop.

Paul McKenna suggests that you need to remove your current hardwiring about food and how you eat. Therefore, he recommends that you use his NLP CD's along with his diet tips to see full and faster results. If you are interested, you can purchase the required from here.
