Just because the food is on your plate, you are under no obligation to finish it. For a start, do not take more than a handful or spoonful on your plate. Only fill your plate as long as you are not satisfied. Once you are satisfied, do not serve anymore.

Enjoying your food is a very good way of losing weight. Many nutritionists and weight loss experts claim this to be true. When you take your time to chew and enjoy your food, tasting every bite of it, you tend to eat less because your belly gets full fast. When you gorge, you do not give your belly enough time to process your food and tell you to stop as it is satisfied. Therefore, enjoy your food while you are at it and see your weight drop.
